Our Engineering Integration leads, manage complex engineering projects through all stages in their lifecycle, from concept to delivery.We lead the integration of systems to deliver high quality engineering solutions that meet our customer’s needs.A role in Engineering Integration will provide a broad understanding of our Engineering activities and offer the opportunity to work across many of the business functions and engineering disciplines that are necessary to design and develop our Systems of System platforms.

What you will be Doing

As a Systems Integration Engineer you will use your sound engineering knowledge and experience to propose and develop solutions to problems throughout our product development cycle. You will play a key role in bringing components and systems together to form a System of Systems.

You’ll manage aspects of engineering, delivering them to high standards through ensuring good engineering governance. You’ll understand and manage the maturity of our engineering solutions as they develop and you take corrective action to ensure our products are the best they can be.

You can specialise in areas such as System Architecting, System Design, Configuration Control, Requirements Management or Qualification. You will lead the integration of engineering across all aspects of Air platforms & products, covering all stages in the engineering lifecycle – from concept to delivery.

An Engineering Integration role may focus on one of these areas or specialisms or it may cover many. The role may fit neatly into one area but may also require/develop understanding and exposure to many of the other areas across all engineering disciplines.

Engineering Integrators are also to have responsibility for creating technical documentation in accordance with Departmental Quality Management Procedures and Processes.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential skills:

    Degree educated in a STEM discipline or HND/HNC with sound experience of the Engineering Lifecycle.

      5+ years experience in an engineering integration environment

        Experience of Model Based Engineering approaches and the supporting methods and toolsets

          Use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)

            Good communicator at all levels of an organisation

              Can work effectively in teams but is also able to be self-starting and pro-active.

              Desirable skills:

                Potential candidates should be degree educated in a STEM discipline or have experience in developing products to the engineering lifecycle.

                  The ideal candidate will have experience of fulfilling stretching customer requirements to tight timescales and budgets.

                    All candidates should have sound IT skills.

                      Previous experience in an engineering integration environment would also be beneficial.

                        Good knowledge and experience using a wide range of engineering toolsets.

                          The ideal candidate will also be an effective team member able to coordinate and manage programmes and to forge partnerships with internal and external customers.

                            The candidate will have good communications skills both personal and written. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have creative problem solving skills and be comfortable with suggesting improvements and introducing novel ideas.
