Job Title: Document and Materials Controller

Salary: Up to £44,230 depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
Support document management and delivery in accordance with the relevant BAE Systems and project document management policy and associated Responsible Document Management processes
Co-ordinate material procurement confirming engineering demands and monitoring progress across Purchasing, Production Control and Subcontract Management to ensure lead times are achieved and the development programme can progress
Interface with stakeholders (ITAR, Government Furnished Equipment Security, Export, Manufacturing etc.) in order to ensure project material demands are satisfied with process improvements highlighted and implemented where possible
Provide status reports as required to the project team in order to satisfy the reporting requirements e.g. Status reviews, Quarterly Reviews etc
Interact with the Customer and Stakeholder communities
Support Material/Document Management activities including spot checks to ensure project compliance with policies and applicable standards
Manage and control Project Management Plans and Deliverables associated with the project
Your skills and experiences:
Understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes and tools (including SAP)
Understanding of supply chain processes and approaches
Project delivery, data management, design assurance and/or certification
Knowledge and experience of how engineering, supply chain and manufacturing teams integrate to develop a product
Requires knowledge of supporting functions (e.g. ITAR, Configuration Management, Commercial, Engineering etc.)

The Torpedo Development team:
As the Materials and Document Controller you will have a key role in supporting the design and development of the next generation of Lightweight Torpedo under the Sting Ray Mid Life Upgrade (SRMLU) programme.This is an exciting programme which will be delivered over the next 8-10 years.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of delivery areas with the opportunity to grow as we expand the team and progress into full scale manufacture using a range of innovative and exciting technologies.
