Job title: Senior Mission Systems Design Engineer

Salary: £47,000+depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

    Understanding and developing the requirements for new core computing capabilities, across Platforms and Support solutions

      Maturing modern computing technologies for use in a fast jet environment, encompassing Secure Computing for Integrated Modular Avionics (SCIMA) and Dynamic Architectures (DA) projects

        Developing robust value for money proposals, satisfying the requirements and enhancing the mission systems capability

          Delivering and reporting contracted tasks to time, cost and quality ensuring acceptance on completion

          Your skills and experiences:

          Essential:

            Working knowledge in some or all of the following areas – systems engineering, engineering lifecycle, Cyber Security

              Model Based Systems Engineering and have demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and team working skills during their previous experience

              Desirable:

              • Aircraft computing systems, process improvement

              • Experience in Object Oriented design and Model Based engineering tools and techniques Integrity Modeller Toolset (formerly Artisan) would also be advantageous

              The FCAS Core Computing team:

              This role will provide the opportunity to work with colleagues from across the breadth of the BAE Systems FCAS programmes as well as other parts/projects within our Air organisation, covering a range of functions, including Cyber Security; as well as working with the other parts of BAE Systems along with National/International Partner Companies. The role is Warton based but is likely to involve some travel to other BAE Systems’ sites, customer sites and occasional international travel.
