What you’ll be doing:

    To cover all inspection work within the build phase, working to set specification (Workmanship Standards and Process Instructions) set out by BAE and agreed with all key stakeholders.

      Work in line with the current inspection and test plan agreed by the business and working to a right first-time approach.

        To carry out routine work with limited supervision and complex tasks under direct supervision in their related area/s.

          To be able to access and have a clear understanding of the Quality and HS&E Management system documentation e.g. Process instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments in line with their work scope.

            To have a clear understanding and interpretation of measurement equipment tolerances and highlighting any non-conformances for inspections undertaken.

              Report results of inspections using the agreed processes set out by the business.

              Your skills and experiences:

                Previous experience within a marine/industrial environment in relation to corrosion / preservation and the associated products and application techniques.

                  Product Inspection Background

                    Ability to interpret specifications, procedures and contract requirements

                      ICORR Level One Paint Inspection or Industry Equivalent, familiar with standards 1090 and ISO-13076

                        Time – Served Tradesman

                          Defence Based Experience

                            Understanding of steel working construction / manufacturing and associate standards practices

                            The Quality Inspection team:

                            As Quality Inspector, you will report into HM with site leads requesting inspections.

                            You will have a clear understanding of and how to apply the Quality and HS&E Management System documentation. Working within a team of Quality Inspectors from across the department. You will be liaising/ interfacing with appropriate areas both internally and externally to ensure work schedule and results are communicated to the appropriate areas, highlighting any non-conformances for inspections undertaken and reporting via SAP and the joint management database.
