As the Head of IT Cloud and Infrastructure Services, you will have the opportunity to lead the Enterprise IT Infrastructure and Collaboration teams. Within this role you will be responsible for all aspects of infrastructure service but particularly for transforming the Cloud vision into reality, utilising your broad engineering, thought leadership, and people management skills to ensure the hybrid Cloud infrastructure ensures the highest levels of performance.

What you’ll be doing:

    Working as part of the IT Leadership team you will be providing the Enterprise IT tools and infrastructure used to design, build and maintain the world-class engineering products that BAE SYSTEMS deliver, helping our customers protect what matters most and supporting our national security.

      Owning all aspects of Live Service delivery of Cloud and IT Infrastructure regardless of whether delivered directly or via third parties.

        Owning and directing the operation of private, public, and hybrid Cloud infrastructure ensuring the highest levels of availability, capacity, and performance.

          Supporting M365 and delivering UK Official Sensitive cloud hosting services within a catalogue of modern, fit for purpose services that are maintained in line with industry best practice and actively seek to innovatate and improve the service.

            You will be leading a team of in-house professionals and leading industry suppliers supporting the digital IT strategy.

              Supporting the agenda for change and modernisation within the company that will remove IT obsolescence and deliver current technology/ cloud first solutions in support of the digital strategy of the IMT function.

                Supporting delivery of next generation of supplier contracts that support the company’s digital strategy within the scope of Cloud, IT Infrastructure and Collaboration technology.

                  You will deliver a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence in support of BAEs critical delivery programmes.

                  Your skills and experiences:

                    This is a leadership role, so the ideal candidate will be someone who has extensive service and/or technical management and leadership experience.

                      Strong operational background in technology delivery with experience across public and private cloud (including governance, supplier and financial management).

                        Experience leading technical teams delivering digital services at scale, including M365 and AWS or Azure and preferably experienced in moving from legacy on-premise to these services.

                          Track record of successfully building, developing and leading high performing teams.

                            Proven leadership credibility in influencing others and ability to develop trusted relationships. You will need to demonstrate strong and collaborative leadership to develop and motivate the teams through this digital shift from on premise delivery.

                              Experience of cross functional working and the ability to demonstrate a collaborative approach, one team, with regarding to building key relationships across the business.

                                Expertise in delivering IT infrastructure and Collaboration services globally to provide a consistent integrated service.

                                  Good understanding of Security practices, including risk management, vulnerability management/mitigation and Security Incident Response.

                                    Demonstrable knowledge of continuous improvement and process transformations with the IT industry, and experience of leading and delivering improvement programmes in similar companies.
