Job title: Security Architect
Location: Glasgow, Filton or Portsmouth, or any UK based site. Flexibility to work from home/remote work with ad hoc on-site presence for workshops.
Salary:Up to £80,000 dependent on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
Maintaining a view of the security architecture across our application and information environment
Ensuring Naval Ships security posture is robust and our risks and required mitigations are clearly understood and documented
Act as a consultative function to Enterprise Architecture to ensure all solution designs adhere to standards and baselines, taking the lead for security-focused solution designs.
Delivering and taking ownership of a Security Architecture strategy that underpins the Naval Ships strategy and objectives
Establishing standards for Security Architectural and providing Security Architectural governance across all technology platforms throughout the organisation
Providing specialist security advice and recommending approaches across programmes, teams and stakeholders
Your skills and experiences:
Strong Knowledge of Information/IT Security activities within the defence sector, maritime or closely linked domain
Expert level of cyber security infrastructure technologies, their implementation and configuration
IT Security Architecture experience including TOGAF and/or SABSA
Conversant with security best practices (including ISO27001 and/or NIST 800-53) and relevant security legislation
Will have achieved certification as a CISSP, GIAC or CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of Zero Trust methodology
Extensive experience of working with internal or external service providers to deliver IT systems in a regulated / accredited environment
Experience of working in a complex, multi-site, federated and decentralised organisation

The IM&T (Information Management & Technology) team:
You will be joining at an exciting time as we grow to meet current program needs in the UK and recent export wins including the Hunter Class Frigate for the Australian Navy and the Canadian Surface Combatant.
The Security Architect role is responsible for the overall security architecture across Naval Ships.
The role is responsible for maintaining a view of the current security estate, developing and communicating our current and future security architectures including areas for improvement and working closely with the IM&T team, Information Security, the wider business, as well as external suppliers.
