What you’ll be doing:

    Leading the initial preliminary ‘Structural Layout’ of theAir Vehicle concept and configuration and liaising with other stakeholders

      Producing and issuing Airframe engineering design data to meet project requirements in line with design standards, whilst maintaining quality, cost and schedule adherence

        Undertaking formal independent quality engineering Approval of others design data, to ensure compliance with project standards

          Identifying product technical risks and associated mitigation plans

            Responsible for a number of direct reports, strategic planning, day to day tasking, mentoring, performance reviews and development

            Your skills and experiences:

            Essential:

              Proven experience of design within the Aerospace industry including approving designs

                Experience of using 3D CAD

                  Demonstrable ability to lead and manage a diverse group of stakeholders to coordinate activities

                  Desirable:

                    Background in Aeronautical Engineering and an understanding of the main phases of an airframe design product lifecycle

                      Experience using CATIA V5 or equivalent toolset

                        Experience of integrating product development in a multi-stakeholder environment

                        Concept Design Team:

                        Would you like to play a part in the development of advanced combat aircraft products and technologies, developing your design skills and capabilities whilst working in an agile and collaborative business environment? We currently have vacancies for Airframe Design Engineers at our UK sites

                        You will be part of a team producing the airframe product definition to satisfy a set of multidisciplinary system functional requirements, taking account of safety, cost, manufacturing, in-service support and other considerations. You will develop skills within Concept & Configuration Design, Structural Design (Metallic & Composite), Mechanical Systems Design, Fluid Systems Design, Electrical Circuits and Electrical Installation Design, Build & In-Service Design Support

                        This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to develop your career working on leading-edge programmes such as Tempest, Typhoon and F-35 Lightning II with opportunities for career progression within the team or wider business.
