Salary: £80,000+ depending on skill and experience

We have an exciting role in the senior functional leadership within the BAE Systems Maritime & Land core Sector. This senior position will require high level strategic functional, project management and business management skills. Position holder will be responsible for the effective implementation of pervasive quality improvement strategies across our sector businesses, which enables all delivered products and services to meet schedule and cost commitments. As a senior member of the COO, you will influence multi-functions and business leaders in order to ensure business efficiency and programme execution.

What you’ll be doing:

    As the “Head of Quality - QE” you will provide overall QE vision, strategy and leadership on all Quality Engineering matters with accountabilities.

      Ensure a comprehensive and effective Quality Engineering System, benefits realization process and Governance and Assurance framework.

        You will certify that significant Quality Issues are investigated, resolved and prevented going forward.

          Lead / Manage the Quality Engineering organization in ensuring that Quality improvements are predicted or identified and implemented within the business.

            Ensure there are independent reviews and reporting regarding the efficiency and effectiveness of quality engineering practices across the business, including product and service quality performance.

              Promote and support achievement of Product Safety within the business.

                You will support the definition and setting of the financial planning for Quality Organisation.

                  Communication & influencing leadership, specifically driving improved management decisions around quality risk.

                  Your skills and experiences:

                    Thought leader in the field of Quality Engineering with management experience.

                      Broad business acumen, understanding quality in the widest business context.

                        Broad understanding of the fundamentals of Industry standard Quality Tools and techniques.

                          Experience in the management and understanding of data analytics, and their application.

                            Extensive experience within six Sigma approaches and applications pertaining to process control techniques.

                            The Quality team:

                            This is senior functional leadership role within the BAE Systems Maritime & Land reporting into the M&L Manufacturing & Quality Director. As the Head of Quality - Quality Engineering, this role will be responsible for identifying programme risk through the effective use of both quality and programmatic digital strategy data, that identifies significant risk. The early identification of risk will enable optimal management intervention and decision, to effectively prevent unplanned programme events and so protect programme.This role is the hub of that wheel, and will require significant influence, business acumen, project management and benefits realisation skills.
