Salary: £39,823 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
Apply knowledge and understanding to engineering theories, concepts, practices, principals and approaches
Apply theoretical engineering knowledge, experience & skills to develop products & services, specifications, designs and developments
Resolve technical & performance issues and problems for a platform, product or service
Perform general systems engineering activities, which may include requirements development and management, modelling and simulation, design activities, integration, and verification and validation
General systems engineering activities across the engineering lifecycle
Resolve problems and issues and keep stakeholders informed of progress
Provide support to other team members where appropriate
Make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority
Maintaining a level of SQEP for the role through personal and professional development
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
Knowledge and understanding of engineering theories, concepts, principles and approaches
Ability to apply theoretical engineering knowledge, experience and skills to develop products and services, designs and developments
Experience in two or more of the following general engineering activities: requirements development and management, modelling and simulation, design activities, integration, verification and validation
A degree in a relevant subject e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Maths or other equivalent qualification or equivalent experience (STEM qualification)
An understanding of the engineering lifecycle
An understanding of systems engineering methodologies and practices
Desirable:
Experience in a defence or related industry
Knowledge of the Naval domain
Working towards an appropriate level of professional certification with a relevant professional body
Competence and capability with systems engineering tools
