Job Title: Principal Engineer – Product Assurance (Software)

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements

Salary: £54,353 per annum

What you’ll be doing:

    Conducting reviews of software plans and processes (e.g. software management plans)

      Reviewing evidence of software safety in product design

        Briefing and advising on software-related aspects of other assurance issues

          Contributing to platform-level assurance planning

            Work across all the current and future submarine build programmes throughout the engineering life cycle

              Auditing evidence from first and second level assurance and third party mutual assurance

              Your skills and experiences:

              Essential:

              • Experience of relevant software safety standards (ideally IEC 61508 or similar)
              • Extensive experience of software development which must be in a relevant/similar industry
              • Good stakeholder communication and management experience
              • Relevant software degree or extensive experience
