Would you like to play a key role to help shape and deliver our Atlassian IT solution supporting BAE Systems Air Sector?

We currently have a vacancy for a Jira Configuration Administrator based at our Warton site who can help shape our future Atlassian capability within the Air Sector delivering the benefits of this collaboration toolset. As a Jira Configuration Administrator, you will be responsible for the analysis and development of IM&T enabled solutions of varying complexity, working closely with the Air Sector functions to identify and shape future IT needs.

This role will provide the opportunity to work in a high-profile area, offering the opportunity to influence and cultivate the way in which the Air Sector works.

Your main responsibilities as a Jira Configuration Administrator will involve:

As a Jira Configuration Administrator, you will help define, support, maintain, suggest best practices, and implement changes/configurations to Jira, Confluence and their add-ons to better support changes aimed to increase efficiencies across the business. This will include developing, maintaining and supporting automation workflows in Jira & Confluence to streamline processes as well as using the Jira add-ons such as ScriptRunner, Big Picture and Insight. The ability to document and effectively roll out training material prior to change management will also be important.

As part of the role, you will collaborate with the Atlassian System Design Authority (SDA) and people across the business to define, suggest best practices and implement changes/configurations to Jira, Confluence and other Atlassian tools and add-ons to better support changes aimed to increase efficiency throughout the lifecycle.

    Perform Jira Configuration Administrator of Atlassian tools: Jira, Confluence and add-on support

      Business Process Analysis as it relates to workflow configuration, support of ongoing requirements, and environment management

        Design and develop workflows and develop mechanisms to automate manual processes

          Provide Jira subject matter expertise in discussions regarding governance within Jira

            Building dashboards and reports

              Creating and maintaining technical and/or user facing documentation for training

                Providing data analysis, process improvements, creative problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration

                  Working with Agile projects and processes with multiple teams across the business

                  Your skills and experiences:

                  Essential

                    IT background with good analytical and problem-solving skills

                      Awareness of Jira and Confluence and their use

                        Ability to multi-task and balance tasks with varying priorities

                          Maintaining strong and healthy relationships with key stakeholders

                          Desirable

                            Experience of working with Agile principles

                              Previous usage of Jira and Confluence

                                Ability to design workflows to fit a requirement

                                  Experience gathering and documenting requirements

                                    Knowledge of scripting language such as Perl or Groovy
