Job title: Category Lead – Utilities

Location: Preston/Farnborough Hybrid pattern of 2-3 days based in the main office

Salary:Circa £45,000 + Dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing:

Providing day-to-day support to sourcing and procurement activities, either through the management of day-to-day routine procurement activities, or by supporting strategic procurement initiatives or projects

Taking a lead role in the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from sourcing to contract negotiation / execution and ongoing Supplier Performance and Relationship Management

Managing and influencing internal stakeholders across the business to maintain and deliver an appropriate forward looking realistic energy demand forecast.

Negotiating on existing and new contracts to ensure best cost / service solution to the business whilst striving for World Class solutions.

Supporting the business in delivery of key projects specifically around its Net Zero commitments

Analysing of Utilities consumption and spend

Managing suppliers to ensure there is a professional and effective business relationship with necessary KPI’s in place

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

Prior experience within utilities sector

Relevant experience working with large data sets to provide analysis, insight and good analytical skills

Ability to demonstrate innovative thinking and translate complex procurement guidance into simple, straightforward and practical advice

Energetic, resilient and adaptable – ability to effectively operate in dynamic, fast paced environments.

Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills

Desirable:

CIPS qualification or willing to go through it

The Utilities Category Team:You will be joining a growing Facilities Management and Infrastructure team, headed up by enthusiastic and dynamic individuals. This role has the ability to influence internal / external stakeholders and suppliers, and provides an opportunity to make a real difference within the Utilities Category.
