Job title: Warehouse Operative - Engineering
Location: Portsmouth Navel Base
Salary:£26,999
What you’ll be doing:
Undertake all aspects of storekeeping to include issue, receipt, stocktaking, reconciliation & consolidation. Undertake tasks in line with published procedures to ensure compliance and stock accuracy is maintained.
Support the warehouse management and complete the required tasks to ensure the efficient running of the store, that business objectives are achieved and a high level of service to our customers is maintained
Use initiative to resolve any customer requests and take appropriate action to satisfy the requirement. Ensure high priority work is actioned in a timely manner.
Maintain the required degree of competence in all aspects of Logistics, including IT systems and Manual handling equipment. SAP / Microsoft systems Excel / Office etc
Good knowledge of storekeeping principles, H&S Procedures Understanding of the importance of customer focus & achieving deadlines
Willingness to move within logistics function to meet the business requirements. Motivated to undertake any task within safe level of competence. Keen to learn new skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Your skills and experiences:
Ability to drive a variety of Forklift equipment (up to 5 different types)
Previous extensive work experience in a similar large-scale warehousing environment with relevant IT.
Experience of using Cutting & Hand Tool / equipment (Guillotines / Band saws / Cable Reel Machines.
- Current FLT tickets (Min B1 basic FLT ticket required but training can be provided for additional)

The Warehouse Engineering team:
As a warehouse Operative you will be part of a delivery group that is key in supporting the royal navy. You will work on Ships in service as well as currently under maintenance. Within the team the development routes are fully supported and there is opportunity to progress into other areas.
