Job title: Technical Authority – Platform Monitoring Systems

Salary: Up to £66,680 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
Ensuring that the PM&C systems design meets the Whole Ship requirement along with assuring design and ensuring acceptable evidence available to support Platform Monitoring Systems safety case
Providing engineering oversight of and support to the PM&C Systems design teams in the definition and maintenance of the systems physical, functional, and transverse design, architecture and associated design policies and processes
Ensuring T26 PM&C Systems design is consistent and coherent, whilst assessing supplier change proposals and design review documentation
Coordinating and managing both the customer and stakeholders input into the design and the production of the PM&C Systems maintained design documentation in accordance with the project engineering milestones
Identifying and mitigating of PM&C Systems risks and hazards and producing the PM&C safety and environmental documentation
You will also have people management responsibilities in this role
Your skills and experiences:
Experienced engineer, with strong experience of Control Systems and/or complex distributed software intensive systems
Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes, tools, requirements specification, decomposition, integration of hardware and software and acceptance management
Experience of large naval ship projects and an understanding of the risks inherent within Whole Ship integration and the challenges posed by the marine environment
Strong senior stakeholder engagement and management skillset
Experience working with external suppliers and holding suppliers to account
“Degree qualified or equivalent experience, likely to be in a technology, engineering, science, or IT related discipline. Some disciplines may require a Masters’ level education. Chartered Engineer, or other relevant, equivalent professional registration Member of appropriate professional institution, ideally working towards Fellow”
