About the role

Privacy Ops at Deliveroo is responsible for the timely delivery of the privacy ops strategic objectives as set out in the Data Protection team’s annual strategy. We design and build innovative processes which underpin Deliveroo’s global data privacy program and compliance framework. This work is vital in ensuring that Deliveroo’s privacy program can continue to operate effectively and respond quickly to a world of complex and ever-changing privacy demands. This role reports directly to the Head of Privacy Operations, sits within the Data Protection team and has a global reach.

We’re a bunch of creative privacy geeks who get to work at the forefront of emerging tech, help pave the way for operational privacy excellence, and grow and have fun whilst doing so. No two days are ever the same at Deliveroo and we’re looking for a like-minded and experienced Privacy Operations Manager who will thrive in our face-pace environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Working cross-functionally and globally in the review of Deliveroo’s Individual Rights Requests (IRR) processes; gathering requirements, proposing improvements and helping implement improved processes to closure

  • Working with the wider Data Protection team and Privacy Legal to understand specific market requirements for privacy processes, ensuring these are documented and accounted for

  • Proactively and independently identifying areas for process efficiency and automation, developing clear action plans to deliver these

  • Reviewing Deliveroo’s privacy accountability processes (e.g. ROPAs/DPIAs), developing and implementing improvements - ensuring these processes are fit-for-purpose and business-friendly

  • Ensuring privacy processes are aligned and embedded within existing business processes, where possible

  • Assisting with the implementation, testing and day-to-day management of privacy processes on OneTrust

  • Supporting business users in their use of OneTrust

  • Developing and delivering clear guidance, training and documentation for internal users of privacy processes

  • Ensuring that privacy processes are clear, easy to understand and accessible for data subjects

  • Managing a project to collect, validate and migrate ROPAs/DPIAs to OneTrust in key markets

  • Reporting on key privacy processes - adapting these reports periodically, according to internal/external stakeholder needs

  • Working with, influencing and leading calls with Engineering/product teams on privacy ops projects, identifying tech solutions and overseeing the delivery of technical elements

  • Promptly escalating any issues with privacy processes, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate and resolve these

  • Supports on reactive operational responses and privacy compliance remediation

  • Ensuring that Deliveroo has the right proactive measurements to understand the quality of our user experience, and how we stack up against the competition

  • Building strong relationships within the wider Data Protection team, Privacy Legal, InfoSec, Employment Legal, Data Management, Engineering and other business teams

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Understanding complex legal/business requirements and being able to interpret and translate these into operational processes/improvements

  • Ability to clearly document and articulate privacy ops requirements which can be understood by Tech and business teams

  • Demonstrable project management, organisational and time management skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and strong interpersonal skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university, preferably in a legal, data or technical topic

  • Minimum 4 years of work experience working in privacy or on an operational legal team, ideal candidates will have both
