About the role
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Procurement & Supplier Relations, the National Purchasing and Contract Manager sets direction and priorities for the ‘National Procurement’ Buyer Transactional Team, Procurement Governance and Contract Administration team. Also ensuring efficient and effective management of Procure to Pay (P2P), contract management systems, document control applications and buying transactions.
The role will drive improvements in purchasing and contract operational efficiencies, and process automation, and will supervise the administration and management of relevant enterprise systems that sit within the Strategic Procurement & Supplier Relations team.
The role will provide high-level advice and support to the Director, Strategic Procurement & Supplier Relations and other senior executives on tactical procurement initiatives, supporting implementation, undertaking co-ordination and quality assurance of the Purchasing and Contract functions of Lifeblood.

- Excellent facilitation, collaboration, negotiation and presentation skills, including the ability to engage with senior and executive management.
- Ability to translate complex, technical subjects into clear, business oriented communications.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team, including planning and driving performance, managing processes, priorities and constraints.
- Demonstrated, advanced capability to build & influence internal and external stakeholder relationships at various levels.
- Ability to analyse data (financial, written and verbal) and to draw appropriate, considered and well documented conclusions to form recommendations for complex problems.
- Knowledge of end-to-end P2P processes, contract management requirements and ‘buying’ better practice.
- Knowledge of procurement rules, contract management guidelines and better practice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
- Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment.
- Knowledge of Oracle, P2P processes, EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) & Punch-out functionality and processes, contract management processes, item management and ‘buying’ better practice would be highly regarded.
- Understanding of the ‘Technology Application’ implementation and project management processes and steps would be highly regarded.
