Application Support Engineer
Lloyds Banking Group Commercial Business Banking Transformation Markets - Product, Controls & Data
Location: London based with flexibility to work from home 3 days per week and the rest in the London office.
Salary & Benefits: £41,592 to £67,587 base salary, plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Product, Control and Data Lab:
The role is within the support team that sits in the PC&D Lab. PC&D is responsible for valuation, risk and control of the Markets trading book. The lab is staffed by a mix of Engineers, Product Owners and Business Analysts working across multiple Regulatory deliveries.
The Product, Controls & Data Run Team:
The team is tasked with supporting critical systems for both LBG and Lloyds Bank Commercial Markets (LBCM), they enjoy wide-ranging work split between Support (60%) and Change/Development (40%). They work closely with the other teams in PCD as well as our customers.
The Role:
An Application Support Engineer will be encouraged to: deliver support to a large number of custom applications, provide communications between the I.T. teams and the customers, along with handling the backlog of work the team has. Taking lead on live incidents is an important skill in this role along with helping their fellow team members with complicated investigations.
A secondary side to this role is an element of development work where we are responsible for collaborating with various teams, whilst making use of modern DevOps tooling to deliver continuous improvements.
This area of the role gives us the ability to upskill our own capabilities in a wide range of areas. It’s a lively environment where we provide cover 07:00 to 18:30, divided into an early shift 07:00 – 15:00 and a late shift 10:30 – 18:30 and our out of hours cover is on a rota basis. With the rota you would be generally be in the office 4 times a month with the rest form home as you will not be expected to come into the office coming off the late shift. It is a very rewarding job and the variety of work is a real opportunity to develop your skills.
What we need from you:
Previous 1st and 2nd line experience in Application Support gained in busy environment
Good Incident handling and problem resolution experience
Experience of Windows environments.
An understanding of ITIL and incident/problem management – Preferably using ServiceNow
Experience in overnight/weekend support
Wider skills that would be really useful include:
VBA development with knowledge of sophisticated excel formula
Supporting UNIX (Unix/Aix/Linus/Solaris etc.), AWS, Azure or Private Cloud environments
System monitoring and DevOps Tooling experience (Splunk, Dynatrace, Git, Jenkins, Selenium, Urban Code, etc.)
Experience with Front/Back office, Finance, Risk or Trading systems.
Examples of working with auditors (Deloitte, PWC, etc.)
Experience of T-SQL, Standard Procedures, Scripting skills such as Perl, Python, PowerShell etc.
