We're looking for a passionate and versatile middleweight Creative Designer to join our newly formed Creative Studio in our Group Corporate Affairs (GCA) division. Supporting Lloyds Banking Group’s communications objectives internally and externally through creative ideas, a passion for design and inquisitive thinking, you'll be part of a highly skilled team of creative professionals.
As an Assistant Creative Designer you’ll work closely with the Production Manager, Creative Lead and a team of designers, videographers, motion graphics specialists and more. You’ll be responsible for bringing to life concepts that showcase the Group’s purpose and how we're supporting colleagues, customers and communities. Experienced in typography, layout and composition; responding to briefs in order to produce high-end concepts and visuals that turn complexity into content that is compelling and engaging for our target audiences.
Taking into account brand guidelines, client expectations, logistics and timelines you’ll use your ability to take those ideas and practically bring them to life. Comfortable working on a variety of different types of projects such as an infographic for a presentation, a suite of assets for social media, or exhibition material for an internal event. Just as happy working on day-to-day, quick turnaround assets such as a simple tile for an announcement on our intranet, to the larger, more integrated campaigns.
You'll be a brand guardian, ensuring creative is consistent and of high quality, and will offer insights, ideas and suggestions that will help take our brand to the next level. On occasion, working alongside external creative agencies, allowing us to flex capacity and expertise when required. There will be opportunities to develop your skills further to help improve the team’s capabilities, including copywriting and motion graphics.
Our mission is to improve and protect the reputation of the Group through on-brand, timely communication strategies and multi-channel campaigns. It’s about knowing what, when and how to say something; with a unique mix of being brave and risk-aware in equal measure. Data and colleague insights will be used to understand progress and adjust approach as we enter a new phase of strategy and purpose for the Group.
Key capabilities
- A collaborative approach, working closely with the team to interpret, develop, and implement first class, on-brand creative from briefs supplied by partners across all levels
- Experience designing for multi-channel campaigns, seeing projects through from development to launch, with a strong understanding of our owned channel’s identity and content performance
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey succinctly the rationale behind your creative choices and collaborating with the Creative Lead and Senior Designers to develop and realise concepts
- Able to assist with stakeholder management when necessary, maintaining a consistent and smooth workflow to build positive relationships with colleagues across the Group
- Display a learning mentality, to keep track of industry trends, and a constant desire to improve your skills and learn from the experience of the wider team
Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate the following skills and experience to a high level of competence:
- Experience working in a fast-paced creative environment in a similar role. Degree level or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
- Proficiency in visual design, editorial, typography, digital design, social media, creative thinking, branding identity, storyboarding
- Strong ability using Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat, with experience of After Effects. Good working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- A good understanding of all channel types and associated formats, along with the appetite to quickly learn and discover requirements of other specific platforms (e.g. SharePoint Online, Social Media, Digital)
- Experience working for well-known brand(s) and be familiar with working in alignment with brand guidelines (whilst also flexing your creativity!)
- Meticulous attention to detail, with excellent organisational skills and highly proficient in spelling and grammar
- An outstanding portfolio showcasing a range of skills and techniques for projects bringing brands to life!
Desirable
Able to write, edit and adapt copy for use in creative concepts. Experience of working within financial services or other corporate brands, either in-house or through an agency. Motion graphics skills using After Effects. Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications, including Powerpoint, Word and SharePoint. Experience of producing optimised HTML5 digital display advertising that is fit for channel.
