Right now, we have an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your experience in governance, compliance, risk management and stakeholder engagement through leading the EMEA Balance Sheet and Statistical Reporting team within the Financial Management Group.

You will lead the team in London as an Associate Director and you will report directly into the EMEA Regional Finance Controller, with oversight on all matters pertaining to EMEA BSSR regulatory reporting. You will have extensive engagement with the EMEA leadership team across Finance, Data, Business Unit and Risk areas and will have the opportunity to influence and challenge existing processes and culture to uplift the function.
You will be overseeing the governance of Balance Sheet Reporting in the region collaborating with related stakeholders to ensure consistently high standards, supported by robust, fit for purpose controls that are designed and implemented effectively. Your role will include oversight of a risk and policy lead and you will also have the opportunity to set and support a team culture which is characterised by risk management, innovation and collaboration.
You are a goal-oriented, hardworking, reliable, people-focused individual with control improvement, operational risk, and compliance experience. It is also desirable that you have working knowledge of regulatory risk concepts and standards, and familiarity with financial services businesses. This will enable you to support the FMG strategy of strengthening foundations and enabling growth by setting the vision and objectives of your team and driving to implementation in this dynamic and fast paced environment.
Your role objectives will include:
- Responsible for the governance framework in the EMEA BSSR regulatory reporting function, incorporating reporting and production teams across EMEA bank and non-bank reporting entities.
- Responsible for understanding the impact of and supporting regulatory change projects that impact on BSSR’s regulatory reporting obligations, including internal and external initiatives.
- Responsible for keeping EMEA and global senior leadership informed on business and regulatory developments pertaining to BSSR reporting, including risk management, and supporting senior executives in compliance with the relevant accountability regime.
- Supporting EMEA Regional Financial Controller in the delivery of the divisional strategy
- Responsible for the Reg Reporting function's adherence to the regulatory reporting control framework pertaining to BSSR reporting requirements, including Regulatory Reporting Policy, Enterprise Data Management Policy, and Financial Control Standards
- Responsible for the management and resolution of review findings from internal and external stakeholder, to uplift controls in reporting e.g., Internal Audit, SREP review.
What skills and qualifications will you bring to this role?
- Tertiary degree qualified in Business/Commerce with a CA qualification or equivalent.
- 12+ years’ post qualified experience, with 5-8+ years in regulatory reporting, compliance, or governance function desirable.
- experience working in large financial services/investment banking industry is ideal, with previous exposure to regulatory reporting.
- prior experience in group level internal audit, assurance, financial reporting, operational risk roles are highly regarded.
- excellent relationship building skills, stakeholder management and cross-functional engagement skills will also be paramount to your success in this role.
- excellent verbal and written communication skills across a variety of audiences
- proven analytical and strong problem-solving skills.
