This a fantastic opportunity to join Macquarie Capital’s Infrastructure and Energy Capital (IEC) team in London supporting the Global IEC COO with oversight of the IEC investment portfolio.
Infrastructure and Energy Capital (IEC) invests Macquarie’s balance sheet to provide flexible capital to Macquarie’s infrastructure and energy clients. The team has a broad mandate to invest in assets and companies across Economic & Social, Digital & Data and Energy Transition infrastructure sectors. With staff presence and a portfolio spanning the Americas, EMEA and APAC, this team has an exceptional track record and long history as one of Macquarie’s most dynamic entrepreneurial businesses.
As the Global Reporting & Portfolio Manager, you will work closely with the Global IEC COO, the IEC Strategy & Operations Manager, FP&A and the regional asset management teams to be across all aspects of the IEC portfolio including asset and financial performance. You will be responsible for the delivery of all reporting including for the IEC Leadership Team, the Board and the broader business. You will be responsible for performance oversight of the portfolio including coordinating quarterly portfolio reviews, valuations and stress testing. You will monitor portfolio trends and execute analysis on performance including alignment with investment thesis, risk, capital usage, cost of funding and learnings from failed deals. Developing and driving initiatives to optimize our operating model to drive greater effectiveness and enhanced top and bottom-line performance will be a key component of this role.
You will also support the Global Head of the IEC business and the Global IEC COO in relation to strategic initiatives. You will take the lead or provide input into a range of analysis related to strategic initiatives, growth opportunities, problem solving, cost and capital optimization, operating and financial performance of the business.
The broad scope of this position will afford you the opportunity to build deep relationships across IEC stakeholders including IEC Leadership Team, IEC deal teams and other central functions.
To be successful in this role, you will possess transferrable experience in investment banking and/or management consulting and will be able to demonstrate strong planning and prioritization skills, with an ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, keeping visibility on urgency/importance and re-adjusting prioritization as needed. You will be able to drive initiatives autonomously, whilst managing and developing key senior stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced environment with highly commercial, talented individuals with high-bar expectations. You will bring strong analytical and numerical skills, including ad-hoc excel analytics and interrogation of business performance data, and be able to demonstrate strong internal collaboration with both the investment banking teams and central support functions.
