The construction industry would be seen as being slow to get on board with programmes in Diversity & Inclusion and pride historically, but things are changing fast. You’re really seeing Mercury embrace it now and getting on board with LGTBQI+ Pride".

We are committed to providing high-quality formal and informal learning as part of our continued investment in our people. We provide assistance for employees pursuing a variety courses in keeping with Mercury’s strategic objectives. Career development programmes have been put in place to support staff through key transitions in their career including our Apprentice Career Development Programme, Graduate Development Programme, Traineeships and Management Development Programme. We recognise the importance of working with professional bodies and institutions. Throughout an employee’s career with us they will be encouraged and supported to continuously develop their skills.

Women in Construction
We support women in construction. While women currently make up only 5.5% of the construction workforce, Mercury is leading the way in making strides to both attract a high quality and diverse team and help to make the construction industry more female friendly.

As part of this, we’ve previously hosted “Women in Construction Week” across Mercury. The focus of the initiative is to highlight women as a valuable component of the construction industry. Led by our HR department, we use the occasion to raise awareness of the opportunities available to women in the construction industry and to emphasise and encourage the growing role of women in our industry. We recognise the achievements of women in our company and hope that they will inspire others to follow in their footsteps and encourage other female employees across our organisation.

We’re hugely proud of the contributions made by women within Mercury.

Responsible Business
We believe that with business growth & success comes responsibility. We’re determined to make a positive contribution to all the communities in which we operate through our daily operations - to our employees, to our business partners and to society in general.

We're a member of Business in the Community, a network of over 100 of Ireland’s most established companies who are part of the movement for sustainable change. Our commitment to making this change is centred around four key areas: CSR, Sustainability, Diversity & Inclusion and Wellbeing.

Mercury’s culture has always been deeply rooted in its rigorous approach to ensuring employee safety and wellbeing, as well as living our values of Brave, Dynamic and Making it Happen.
