THE ROLE

This is a opportunity to join Origin’s Brisbane Central Control Room team (BCCR), which is responsible for remote operations of the APLNG asset to maximise value by optimising the flow of gas across the network. This role is responsible for meeting all production targets, nominations and response to unplanned events, notification, escalation and management of production and emergency situations.

Your responsibilities will include;

• Operating plant within safe operating envelopes
• Responding appropriately to alarms, rectification of alarmed situation, escalate/initiate and coordinate field operator response as necessary
• Adjusting operating setpoints and optimise assets as necessary to deliver/produce daily gas nominations as per the production plan
• Managing transfer of control between Control room and field locations via transfer protocols
• Managing maintenance/start-up override via process safety override procedures
• Conducting remote start-up/shutdown/optimisation of assets as required
• Monitoring and operating pipeline transmission networks
• Monitor pipeline pigging operations and well operation and performance
• Proactively monitoring operational performance for indication of developing operational defects

IS THIS YOU?

You’ll need to be a team-player, diligent and detail focused. You are hands-on and solution focussed with a collaborative approach and the ability to negotiate and influence. You thrive in high pressure situations and are able to navigate conflicting priorities.

To be considered you will have:

• Experience in oil and gas production operations or other heavy industry
• Trade Qualification or Technical Degree Qualification (engineering, sciences etc)
• Experience in oil and gas production operations or other heavy industry / petrochemicals
• Experience in the following areas: SCADA/DCS Operations, Permit to Work and HSE Procedures and compliance
• Ability to commit to a rotational roster pattern and 12-hour shifts (day)
• The first 3 months will be training from Monday to Friday (38-hour week)
