Job Description

From imagination to implementation our clients need PA to deliver new products to the market. We provide a one-stop product development service that takes products to market, from advising on business cases and creating initial concepts through to design and development; from manufacture and supply chain set-up to ongoing support for lasting success, and you can help.

Our team of Mechanical Design Engineers is a highly respected and a highly valued part of our Technology and Innovation consultancy group. We are looking to grow this team significantly where you would be developing creative technical solutions for manufacturing processes and special purpose machine designs.

  • Be creative and inventive by applying ‘first principle’ concepts along side well established technical solutions
  • Use your relationship building skills to adapt well to our consulting environment, expressing your ideas to a wide range of clients.
  • Apply best practice to make new process ready for the production floor
  • Be passionate about technology, utilising a ‘hands on’ and ‘get it done’ attitude to deliver to tight deadlines

Skills/Personal Qualities:

  • The ability to innovate and think freely whilst collaborating with a broader team from multiple disciplines.
  • Has an approach founded in scientific rigour and the capability to apply the fundamental physical laws to solve problems
  • The capability to ‘think like your client’ and use this to create convincing arguments.
  • Energy and enthusiasm to take on new challenges in a range of industry sectors
  • The ability to lead small teams including the ability to plan and prioritise, achieve deadlines and work under pressure
  • The desire to learn and take what you have learnt from each project to improving and establishing best practice.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subject or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in the design, creation and commissioning of special purpose machinery
  • Has maintained a high level of proficiency in designing machinery and the use of 3D CAD systems; preferably SolidWorks
