We have a fantastic opportunity for an Average Adjuster in London

The Average Adjuster is a specialist technical role, supporting shipowners, insurers and brokers worldwide in the resolution of marine insurance claims. You’ll be the trusted advisor, guiding clients through complex claims processes, interpreting policy wordings, and calculating policy liabilities. Each day brings a new challenge: analysing intricate facts, adjusting claims to reach correct and equitable settlements using knowledge of relevant insurance law and adjusting practice and collaborating with legal and industry experts to identify and resolve disputes should they arise. The role demands both analytical rigour and empathy—clear communication reassures clients, while independent judgment ensures fair outcomes.

Imagine being the steady hand after a vessel suffers a major casualty. You’ll clarify complex principles to clients and have underwriters commending your expertise and professionalism. It’s a chance to make a real impact in the marine insurance sector, one measured decision at a time.

Whether working from our central London office or remotely, you’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive global team. We offer comprehensive training to develop your technical skills, and the opportunity to earn prestigious industry qualifications (such as Fellowship of the Association of Average Adjusters).

It’s a perfect fit for those who thrive on variety, enjoy problem-solving and want to build a rewarding career in a dynamic, international and well-respected environment.

The skills you will have when you apply:

• Experience in marine claims adjusting: Prior experience in marine insurance, claims handling, or average adjusting is essential.
• Excellent communication skills: You’ll liaise with shipowners, insurers, brokers, and legal professionals. You’ll explain complex details clearly and negotiate fair settlements for all parties.
• Analytical and detail-oriented: You’ll interpret policy wordings, calculate claims, and ensure accuracy in all documentation.
• Conscientious and hard working: You strive for high standards and are adaptable during periods of high claim volumes.

The skills that will be developed once working:

• Comprehensive Training: You’ll receive all the specialist training needed to excel in your role.
• Professional Development: We are committed to supporting your progress towards industry qualifications, including Fellowship of the Association of Average Adjusters.
