About the Role
As an HR Consultant, you’ll work closely with the HR Director and also partner closely with the organisation, including the relevant business leaders supporting them in driving the Telegraph Media Group’s strategic goals. You’ll also work closely with our Chief People Officer, as well as the wider HR team including Talent & Performance, Talent Acquisition, Reward & Benefits and Engagement and Operations.
You’ll form strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders, understanding their goals, needs and issues, with a view to providing people-focused and commercially-grounded advice. The role is varied and you’ll have the opportunity to cast your eye on a range of different areas and supporting the HR Director in: managing organisational design and change, resource planning, talent development, reward, recognition, employee relations, well being, engagement and compliance. We have specialist teams working in many of these areas, who you’ll collaborate and share ideas with. You’ll also play a part in supporting the Business Partnering team including other HR Advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrable experience in an HR capacity with a good understanding of fundamental disciplines of Talent Management, Reward and Employee Relations.
- Broad knowledge of employment regulatory framework.
- A level of commercial awareness and business understanding.
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations and provide clear/best fit solutions.
- Good negotiating and influencing skills, adept at handling difficult situations or challenging individuals to gain positive and constructive outcomes.
- Able to work in a busy, fast paced team-oriented environment.
- Highly organised and efficient with excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Ideally CIPD professional level qualifications.
- Data and analytics experience is desirable.
Essential Skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across multiple levels.
- 5+ years experience within a HR generalist role.
- Able to work in a busy, fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
- Highly organised and efficient with excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations and assess solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication
