Asset Integrity Engineer - Project Leader/Principal Project Leader

Asset Integrity Management (AIM)/ Materials and Structural Integrity (MSI) Group

Location: Cambridge

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time (although part time may be considered)

Salary: Competitive rate

Description of role:

The Asset Integrity Management (AIM) Section forms part of TWI's Materials and Structural Integrity (MSI) Group. We are a diverse group of talented Engineers supporting wide-ranging technical activities across various sectors, including structural integrity and reliability assessments, life cycle management and optimisation, standards development, coordination of testing and characterisation activities, as well as contribution to long-term collaborative R&D programmes.

We currently have two Project Leader opportunities within AIM, and are looking for individuals to grow our business and supplement our technical capabilities. Individuals with expertise in any technical disciplines will be considered, for complementing our current skill-sets of risk analysis, lifecycle management and optimisation, data analytics, damage mechanism and materials performance evaluation, fitness-for service, and structural reliability and integrity assessment. Experience with business development and track record of securing external project funding (either on a single client basis, or through public funding) is desirable, but not essential.

This position will require working from the Cambridge Office from time to time, although desk-based activities can currently be carried out remotely. Currently, the AIM section spends most of their time working remotely. Flexible working hours can be accommodated.

We will consider applications from very experienced engineers as well as recent graduates. The successful candidate will hold a degree in physics, engineering, mathematics or a similar subject.

A positive attitude towards team working, learning and development, and client engagement is essential. Good communication and the ability to generate concise yet comprehensive technical documents (proposals and reports) is required.

Work at TWI can form valuable experience for professionals seeking or maintaining accreditation (Chartered Engineer, Institution Membership) due to the diversity of work completed.

Travel:

This position may require regular travel both in the UK and abroad.
