Location: Cambridge/Middlesbrough/Port Talbot/Sheffield
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time
Salary: Senior Professional £31,888 - £54,786 / Specialist Professional £37,374 - £66,100
Job Profile: Senior Professional/Specialist Professional
Description of role:
The Technology Innovation Management (TIM) team at TWI is looking to recruit an Innovation Funding Specialist to complement and strengthen the services it delivers to its clients within the TWI Innovation Network (TWIIN). TIM delivers collaborative proposal development services to its clients across the public funding bidding lifecycle within the UK and EU. TIM works with its clients to identify suitable funding calls for proposals across a wide range of thematic areas, develops consortia, by searching and engaging partners, and the scope and budget for proposed projects, and creates competitive bids/applications.
As many research funding opportunities call for multidisciplinary concepts to be developed in response to the scope and expected outcome of the programme/s, TIM wants to further strengthen its support to its clients by:
- Assessing ideas presented by clients to TIM, to ensure relevance to the targeted funding programme and/or suggest alternative funding programmes
- Helping transform initial ideas into strong project concepts that are well-aligned to the funding programme
- Engaging with end-users and pilot partners to ensure project concepts are well-grounded for eventual exploitation
The Innovation Funding Specialist will, therefore, lead such activities whilst understanding research and innovation trends in the relevant sectors, as well as the UK and EU public funding landscape. The Innovation Funding Specialist will, essentiall,y support with the front-end concept development of eventual proposals that are then handed to the Innovation Project Leaders, who would proceed to develop competitive proposals once the concept has matured.
