Role Purpose
QinetiQ’s Technology Exploitation (TE) Integrated Delivery Team (IDT) is involved with taking Research and exploiting it to deliver new and novel systems to the marketplace.
We have an opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our team at Portsdown Technology Park, Portsmouth. The team deliver the systems engineering aspect of identified systems, subordinate systems & components for a project delivering a new Electronics Surveillance Capability to all Royal Navy classes of ship including a new Electronic Warfare Command & Control Capability.
What will I be doing?
You will be working closely with the Systems Engineering Lead and collaboratively with Work Package Leaders, you will take on delegated responsibility for tasks within a range of disciplines, supporting the development of capability through from Preliminary Design Review to delivery using robust Systems Engineering principles.
This role relates specifically to Interface Management aspects of the project and will involve:
- Interface Requirements Definition.
- Interface Documentation.
- EGP for NCSISS Installation at PTP.
- Integration Testing at PTP - Informal BEQ testing and Formal Authority Testing.
- Combat System Services ICD.
- Support for Interface Protocols.
What do I need?
Domain knowledge:The project is delivering capability into the Electronic Warfare area of the maritime combat system therefore previous experience of this domain would be advantageous.
Skills:
- Interface (ICD) knowledge at the detailed engineering level
- A good knowledge of Tools to support Interface definition
- Test and Trial experience of Interface Proving Degree in a relevant subject, or other qualifications with suitable experience.
- Good time management skills and ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to show your own initiative
