An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cash Management and Treasury Operations team to develop professionally, personally and work collaboratively with an ambitious team to support Group Corporate Treasury (“GCT”) and other areas of the Group, bringing to life our vision of Helping Britain Prosper and being the Best Bank for Clients.
The team is a specialist function within Markets & Lending Delivery (MLD) and operates in a fascinating environment, playing a pivotal role by acting as the interface between GCT and various functions across MLD and throughout the wider Group.
The Senior Analyst supports a vast range of interesting and intellectually exciting activities that span across LBG and our clients’ full spectrum of liability issuance, Funding and Liquidity, the Liquid Asset Portfolio, Group Balance Sheet Management and Capital Management. The role also will focus predominantly on Group Corporate Treasury’s funding activities such as Sub Debt and Senior Notes Issuance plus also the Bank owned SPV Securitisations programmes.
Full support will be provided, to assist you in growing into the role. You'll also have the opportunity to get involved in strategically important Group projects. Previous examples have included work such as Ring-fencing, our Group’s response to BREXIT and more recently LBG plc creating its own security based Liquid Asset Portfolio.
In order to support these activities a wide variety of products are utilised covering FX, Money Market, Derivatives, Fixed Income and Equities which offers fantastic development prospects. These individual products are then extensively used as components in packaged transactions such as Securitisations, Structured Repo facilities and Capital Securities.

Core Purpose of the Role
- The key objective of the GCT Trade Facilitation Team within Cash Management and Treasury Operations is to maintain high value and/or complex structured deals and debt issuance trades for both GCT and Group.
- We assist in all aspects of the ongoing lifecycle maintenance of transactions until maturity (including but not limited to payments, reconciliations, trade checking, investigations, deal reviews etc).
- We ensure that there is sufficient knowledge and understanding of ongoing requirements for all transactions and is responsible for initiating the appropriate, timely and accurate set up of processes and controls to meet those requirements.
- Reflecting the wide coverage of GCT, the role touches of most aspects of the Group’s activity but particularly Securitisation, Capital Securities and the management of Group dividends.
Accountabilities
- Ensuring cash management / funding for transactions is appropriate and suitably managed
- Updating, amending Summit tickets where required in a controlled, reconciled manner with full liaison with relevant Front Office and Financial Control units
- Providing GCT Front Offices with advisory support and recommendations for optimal booking solutions and system / ledger migrations
- Monitoring and investigation of daily cash and securities reconciliations and associated breaks
- Preparing deal tickets and maintaining booking summaries and transaction diagrams
- Active management of Approximately Booked trades
- Arranging payments/receipts of dividends and fees
- Co-ordinating corporate actions across multiple asset classes
- Assisting in setting up controls and procedures for ongoing deal maintenance
- Assisting with project work and systems integration
- Support for Sox, Business Unit Control Function, Operational Risk, Compliance and Audit requests for information
Key Capabilities
- Middle Office, Operations or Finance experience
- Good understanding of treasury products, capital markets, capital instruments and settlement procedures
- Skilled user of Excel, preferably familiar with Summit and Treasury Oracle.
- Particular focus on ongoing transaction lifecycle management
- Good communication and team work with GCT, Group Operations, Finance, CB Markets, Group Company Secretariat and Group Legal
- Continuous Improvement Mind-set, utilising Lean Six Sigma techniques
