Overview of the role
The primary focus of the role, reporting into the Director of EMEA Statutory and International Accounting, is to lead the team who is tasked with production of local IFRS financial statements and other statutory compliance requirements for Qualcomm’s UK subsidiaries.
Some of the work you can expect to be involved in:
- Lead production of IFRS statutory accounts, compliant with all local reporting obligations including narrative and technical aspects of the financial statements, ensuring that they are filed on time to the appropriate authorities;
- Maintain a detailed and up to date knowledge of IFRS and other relevant regulatory accounting requirements;
- Provide IFRS technical accounting guidance to stakeholders when required;
- Utilise a working knowledge of UK narrative reporting requirements including climate reporting, s172 reporting and other ‘large company’ reporting disclosures to prepare high-quality financial statements;
- Facilitate the external audit of the UK companies, both preparing and reviewing workpapers;
- Establish good working relationships with the external auditors and thereby facilitate a smooth audit process
- Work closely with the local and international tax department on tax compliance requirements;
- Review month-end financial information as prepared by Qualcomm’s Global Accounting Operations Centre (located in Hyderabad) in accordance with US GAAP;
- Lead forecasting UK legal entity results for use by stakeholders (e.g. tax department);
- Manage a small UK and remote-based team with the opportunity to expand line skills in a growing team;

- The successful candidate will be a highly organised individual, with the ability to manage his or her own workload in addition to indirectly managing Qualcomm resources in remote locations and directly line managing a small team in the UK.
- The role will require extensive collaboration with external auditors.
- The role would suit someone in practice, at a manager level, looking for a move into industry.
What we would like you to be able to demonstrate:
- Detailed technical knowledge of IFRS
- Experience of producing financial statements under IFRS essential.
- Ability to develop and maintain working partnerships in a global organisation
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exposure to the challenges of working in a global organisation preferred.
- Microsoft Office Skills, in particular excellent Excel skills
- Experience using Oracle or similar ERP system
- Experience working in an international technology business
