We are seeking someone who has experience leading a modern global L&D function, skilled in modern digital learning practices and has a track record of innovating new ways to solve today's organizational learning challenges. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous and a bit messy (but fun!) environments, is passionate about lifelong learning and is masterful at bringing some order to chaos.

In this role, you'll get to:

  • Lead the evolution of Atlassian's learning environment in order to keep pace with the skill development needs of our current workforce.
  • Build a high performing L&D team with a strong credible brand inside and outside Atlassian.
  • Drive a skills first approach and partner with our people insights teams to identify new and emerging skills impacting various areas of the business.
  • In partnership with the business, lead and shape a new approach to enterprise and business learning that is suitable for a fast paced, constantly changing distributed workforce.
  • Build and develop a team of high performing learning professionals skilled at designing business aligned solutions for critical skill development needs.
  • Experiment with new emerging technologies and work with the business to pioneer new methods for keeping our workforce skill relevant and competitive.
  • Help build a learning culture that differentiates Atlassian through its career growth, learning and development practices.
  • Build a scalable and flexible learning infrastructure with core processes, data and technologies, creating the 'go to' place for Atlassians to access all things learning, training and skill development.
  • Partner across the Talent ecosystem to help connect a highly engaged network of learning professionals across the organization.

Essential for the Role:

  • 5+ years experience with leading learner centric digital learning practices and 7+ years leading global enterprise learning and development teams.
  • Possesses deep knowledge in areas of learning strategy and related components, skills models and their practical application and industry leading learning platforms, technologies and tools.
  • Track record of anticipating, designing and developing learning interventions with verifiable business impact
  • Strong leadership skills, including ability to manage partners, influence broader organization and drive enterprise level learning transformation
  • Track record of building high performing, business outcome focused learning teams
  • Experience with enterprise level, and learning solution level data, analytics and insights
  • End to end understanding of linkage between business strategy, capabilities, integrated talent practices and impact

Desired for the Role:

  • Experience working with an Engineering led organization
  • Experience with defining and implementing an enterprise level learning operating model (process, data, technology, governance, capabilities)
  • Experience with innovation processes and building innovation mindset
While this job posting identifies San Francisco as the location, please note this position has the option to be performed 100% remote, giving priority to the following US time zones: Pacific, Mountain and Central and in Australia.
