We are looking for a Head of Design to drive design strategy for one of Atlassian’s flagship products, Confluence, while leading a team of design managers, product designers, and content designers to craft an outstanding content creation and consumption experience.
You will partner on an ongoing basis with your peers in Engineering, Product Management, Research & Insights, and Program Management to execute the team’s vision. You will also partner with the platform team to build a flawless end to end journey and deliver engaging experiences for every team. This will include our invaluable Atlassian Marketplace Partners and Atlassian ecosystem, analyzing market trends and business opportunities, to build a compelling product vision.
As a senior design leader, you will set the vision for the entire product experience and seek to bring strong customer centricity, ensuring our solutions scale, innovate, and delight. You will also be responsible for the craft quality of the shipped experiences and growing the level of design craft on the team.

Bring 10+ years of experience leading Design teams, from SaaS to start-ups
Be a strong storyteller, artist and influencer
Have a high degree of influence with all kinds of internal partners, including senior leadership
Have excellent facilitation and collaboration abilities, a flexible and friendly approach to working with teams, and the attitude to always strive for the best outcomes
Embrace the technical nature of shaping a technical platform and customer experience, not shying away from complex details where they matter
Are passionate about the craft of design and bring a breadth of design leadership skills to Atlassian
Have the passion and ability to step into the customer's shoes to ensure customer centricity
Have experience improving and sustaining design rituals at the org level
Have experience managing healthy and engaged teams
Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $266,500 - $355,400
Zone B: $239,900 - $319,800
Zone C: $221,200 - $295,000
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
