Compliance Officer
Would you like to play a key role in ensuring compliance and governance in BAE Systems Shared Services? We currently have a vacancy for a Compliance Officer at our site in Preston or Farnborough.
As a Compliance Officer, you will be co-ordinating and managing the governance/ compliance for BAE Systems Enterprise IT, focusing on Business Systems, document management and process compliance. You will be the point of contact for a set of stakeholder groups facilitating open communication and discussions to ensure compliance standards are met. You will also facilitate the business change decision making processes and planning and implementations of change to ensure user needs are met.
This role will also provide you with the opportunity to develop and deepen understanding across a wide range of activities: Quality, Supplier Management, Security or IM&T. You will also get the unique chance to work across the BAE Systems Enterprise gaining a broad spectrum of knowledge on how the organisation operates in a varied and interesting environment.
Your main responsibilities as a Compliance Officer will involve:
Explaining the purpose of and providing advice and guidance on the application and operation of procedural and technical controls within own area of specialism in line with internal policy and associated external regulatory bodies.
Conducting formal reviews and audits of activities, processes, products or services to ensure compliance.
Providing reports on progress, anomalies, risks and issues associated with the overall projects.
Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and customers by interacting effectively and confidently to ensure their requirements are met. This includes one to one liaison, setting expectations and working to clear service level agreements.
Ensuring conformance to Legislation and other company /supplier changes.
Supporting process reviews on SIAM activities through informal/formal review mechanisms.
Providing practical support and guidance as the SME to trainees and other members of the IM&T function on the interpretation and application of specialist policies and processes in order to ensure compliance and delivery of business objectives.
Continually seeking good practices approaches and opportunities for productivity improvement.
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Knowledge and Experience of managing Business management systems which include processes and document control
Experience of working in an IT Function and familiarity with IT trends and good practice.
Understanding information management requirements i.e. how documents are stored, created, deleted and ownership
Experience of compiling reports and communicating them to a variety of Stakeholders
Demonstrable knowledge of Policies, processes, procedures, standards and frameworks
Experience of building relationships and negotiating outcomes with key stakeholders.
Desirable:
Knowledge of working within a SIAM operating model would be beneficial.
ITIL foundation and either appropriate ITIL Intermediate or equivalent capability training – would be advantageous
Knowledge and experience of using SharePoint
