About the Role
As the State Manager of QLD, this role will provide leadership to the relevant state/s and lead a team of experienced bankers across both the commercial and residential teams within BOQ Specialist, delivering financial performance return across the medical, dental, veterinarian and accounting markets in the State. This role has ultimate of portfolio quality, growth, credit hygiene, strategic execution and P&L management. The role also has responsibility for the development and engagement of staff within their direct reports and own leaders and their indirect reports.
The key responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage the financial performance of the State to achieve financial target as agreed in budget process; Control of expense budgets and expenditure.
- Deliver on State strategy and ensure ongoing initiatives are in line with overall strategic business objectives of BOQS, identifying local market segments.
- Actively participate in meetings/events and conferences for your relevant state and national professional bodies/suppliers and associations located in the state in liaison the Head of Partnerships and marketing team.
- Manage approvals for fee and rates within your DAA.
- Foster a risk conscience culture across the State ensuring that the appropriate risk frameworks are adhered to in line with legislative requirements and the broader team complies with these requirements.
- Responsible for embedding a strong credit quality approach by articulating the standards expected, ensuring the team participates in appropriate training, and providing guidance when necessary. Respond to and assist in resolving issues that arise at a State level in regard to credit submissions and overall quality.
- Take an active role in marketing activities, campaigns owning delivery in your relevant state
- Coaching, training and mentoring the IC and or RM in achieving the partnership/POD’s joint objectives. Identifying and addressing gaps to develop and strength colleagues’ knowledge and abilities.
- Encourage and promote productive working relationships within your team and across operational teams to enable effective delivery of these services to the State.
- Demonstrate an understanding of our client niche and market issues.
- Demonstrate an understanding our commercial product offering.
