The Project
CPB Contractors has established a precast facility at Tomago under a long-term lease agreement. This facility manufactures product for internal CPB (and JV) projects, third party projects and direct to the NSW Government and regional Councils.
The facility is expected to produce over 30,000T of precast per annum once fully operational with a yearly turnover approximately $30 million.
Your Opportunity
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to support the Tomago Precast Yard. The role will manage and control the effective implementation of the commercial framework and processes, including head contract and subcontract administration (change management), commercial risk analysis, insurance, control and reporting so as to ensure the project’s objectives are achieved.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Control commercial, cost control and cash flow activities for the project
- Control subcontract procurement administration, including overseeing subcontract agreements
- Ensure that all contracts meet the legal, commercial and corporate standards and agreed benchmarks
- Prepare and compile monthly progress claims and budget/cost reports for the Project Director’s review and approval
- Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of the head contract and of the proforma subcontracts
- Ensure the effective implementation of commercial and financial risk management procedures
- Manage the Commercial and Administration teams providing mentoring and support as necessary
Our minimum requirements for this role are:
- Extensive experience of accountability for the commercial management of and/or civil projects
- Experience in the construction industry including with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor and with recent experience in a contracts or commercial management role
- Advanced skills in procedures for project contract administration, general business administration and project management
- Advanced negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management abilities supported by high level verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
