We are looking for a talented School to Work – Manufacturing ( Housing Fabrication Welding and Machining ) person to join our 2nd Shift team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fletcher, NC .

*This position will be on-site in Fletcher, NC.

This is an onsite role to assist the Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems plant Housing Fabrication Welding and Machining team with a variety of projects, including bracket welding housings, seam welding housings, and weld repair.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Applying high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship ensures the quality and reliability of the work performed.

Actively participating in continuous improvement activities and TPM teams helps improve quality, safety, processes, and material flow.

  • Ensure Safety:
By stopping work and reporting any major injury hazards immediately, you help maintain a safe working environment.

  • Compliance and Reporting:
Reporting any work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards ensures compliance with HSE standards and promotes a culture of safety.

: Demonstrate your understanding of manufacturing processes by implementing changes to meet functional needs and contribute to continuous improvement. This will enhance operational efficiency.

  • Applicants must have good communication skills and be self-starter.

Education

  • For the Fletcher SHOP STW program, current students
attending BlueRidge Community College and are enrolled in a Welding or related program are highly encouraged to apply.

  • This is an onsite position. Work schedule can vary as needed to accommodate the student's regular school schedule.

Experience

  • Request that successful candidate work a routine schedule up to the STW limit of up to
40 hours per week. There is room for flexibility when needed.

  • Successful applicant will be working onsite 2nd shift
hours supporting Manufacturing Housing Fabrication Welding and Machining at the CDBS in Fletcher, NC.

Hourly Rate: $20.00/hr

Shift Premium: $1.00/hr
