Job Summary:

Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on Generator or component at the customer site with minimal direction.

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in (Dallas, TX)

  • Completing repair activities on generators or components

  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of service

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.

  • High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.

  • Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.

(Entry):

  • Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators.

  • Basic Diesel Engine experience.

Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician to join our team specializing in Power Generation in Dallas, TX.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Completing preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on generators or components at the customer site with minimal direction.

  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Applying the use of specialized tools and following documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.

  • Completing required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.

  • Completing training in line with skill and business requirements.

  • Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.

Qualifications and Competencies

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.

  • High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.

  • Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.

  • Technician Level I: Limited relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on a minimal number of products in scope for a diesel technician; primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics.

This position requires a DMV driving report.

  • A current valid license is required for this role

  • This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

  • 3 years driving experience

  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use

  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age.- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older- A current valid license is required for this role- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical- 3 years driving experience- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use- Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age- A current valid license is required for this role- Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience- This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Current relevant electrical certification

Locally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Minimal level of workshop related experience required.

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products

High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
