Software Development Engineer II
Expedia's Property Management Solutions team is looking for a full-stack software engineer to demonstrate their analytical and problem-solving skills, hands-on programming experience to build and deploy frontend components, backend services, and APIs on the cloud.
What about our technology? You'll dive headlong into full stack web development using React, GraphQL, Node, Java, NoSQL datastores and Kafka event stream processing. You’ll help drive the development and delivery of our new rates platform, and continuously set a higher standard for our operational excellence and engineering practices. Our services are critical for the distribution of vacation rentals across multiple channels including Vrbo and Expedia. Our roadmap is deep and contains several innovative programs crafted to improve customer experience with rates and revenue management. This opportunity presents you with big technical challenges and the ability to have a tremendous business impact.
What you’ll do:
Build groundbreaking user interfaces and workflows based on targeted data analysis and customer feedback
Add to our next generation API platform by crafting, deploying and battle testing domain driven GraphQL APIs for internal and external usage
Build scalable, well isolated services that follow Reactive principles
Build on top of event streams to deliver software that increases operational efficiencies for our property managers
Continuously improve our existing SaaS offering
Technologies we use: Java, Node.js, .Net, React, Redux, GraphQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, SQL Server, S3, Docker, Dropwizard, Kafka, Splunk, DataDog
Who you are:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or any other related fields; or equivalent related professional experience
2+ years of professional software development experience
Knowledge of front-end development tools including JavaScript, Node, React or Angular.js
Proficiency in web services development, web and/or application containers, microservices architecture
Strong passion for end user experience
