We are searching for a strategic self-starter to partner closely with the InsurTech and Marketplace leadership teams to enable the organization and drive the business strategy of the world's largest travel insurance P&L. In this role, drive the end-to-end business strategy to deliver incredible customer experiences and enable success across Expedia Group brands and Third Party travel providers and implement structures and mechanisms in support of the InsurTech organization’s growth.
Your attention to detail, and well-honed structuring and interpersonal skills will enable you to work effectively with your counterparts in Strategy, Product, Supply, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Revenue Optimization, and Brand Leadership to ensure our team delivers ahead of plan with high quality products. Your deep understanding of our customer and the business value drivers will accelerate near and long term performance by identifying, evaluating and prioritizing InsurTech opportunities. Your efforts will increase customer engagement and satisfaction, improve company profits, and enhance the value of our consumer brands and product lines.
What you'll do:
Define and drive the strategic planning process for the overall InsurTech business and partner with the Marketplace strategy leaders to ensure cohesiveness with the broader Expedia Group strategy
Build the foundation for the strategic plan through assessing industry trends, competitor analysis, and Expedia Group strategies
Recognize and frame strategic opportunities in a structured, analytical way to clearly communicate options, risks, and trade-offs
Collaborate with InsurTech leadership to translate the strategic plan into an execution-focused annual plan
Build consensus across Expedia Group for our vision and strategy
Establish a review cadence and prepare materials for business and technology reviews to monitor and run the business
Maintain a high attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize multiple, contending priorities simultaneously
Actively identify and problem solve, enabling the team's ability to meet strategic and financial goals
Who you are:
Have excellent quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills and an ability to translate metrics, research and trends into viable strategies
Have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate issues and influence others, including experience communicating complex information to senior leaders
Able to see the 'big picture' and to effectively prioritize and drive multiple projects
Self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment
Team player who actively promotes & encourages diversity of thought
10+ years’ of experience in strategy consulting and / or similar role in a leading technology company
MBA in a related field is a plus; or equivalent related professional experience
Have expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and proven experience in modeling, analysis, research and presentation creation
Shown ability to lead in a matrix environment and ability to influence without authority
Travel or hospitality industry experience is highly valued
