Senior Director, Corporate Strategy
In this critical role, you will be a leader within Expedia Group’s Corporate Development & Strategy team. The wider team overall drives (1) Corporate Strategy efforts including annual strategic planning, deliverables for quarterly Board meetings and other complex, company-wide strategy projects (2) Corporate Development efforts spanning inorganic transactions across mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments.
You will shape and execute work primarily focused on Corporate Strategy, while working closely with Expedia’s CEO, CFO, and other senior executive leaders.
The successful candidate will have high intellectual horsepower, extraordinary stakeholder management and leadership skills, coupled with intellectual curiosity to identify new ideas and challenge the status quo. You will be able to execute the role with a high degree of autonomy while driving forward the day-to-day goals of the function.
What you’ll do:
Work closely with senior leaders at Expedia Group to shape our long-term strategy and operating model
Drive cross-functional collaboration during the annual strategy planning process to ensure that long-term strategies are woven into actionable annual plans
Monitor industry trends on an ongoing basis, understand competitive actions, and develop related implications for our business
Lead key workstreams during business due-diligence and post-deal integration efforts for inorganic transactions spanning mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, minority investments and other strategic partnerships
Lead targeted strategy projects to answer company-wide complex but high-value add questions
Who you are:
Bachelor’s and MBA degree from a top tier school are required
Outstanding performer with a demonstrated record of achievement at a top tier strategy consulting firm or industry wide corporate strategy group
In-depth understanding of strategic planning and analysis, preferably spanning strategy consulting and an in-house strategy group
Proven situational leadership skills and the ability to motivate and generate enthusiasm with individuals across all levels of the organization
Ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of flexibility and accountability, in a constantly fast-evolving environment
A Storyteller: able to build and articulate a vision and translating it into an executable strategy, leading with data and insights. Skilled thought-leader, confident and successful at influencing others to act
Passion for Results: motivated by goal achievement and continuous improvement, with the enthusiasm and drive to motivate your team and the wider organization
