Senior Software Engineer of Flight Search Services

Product and tech Air teams influence setting and implementing the overall vision and strategy for growth for the Air business across retail, marketing, supply and customer service.
As a Senior Software Engineer of Flight Search Services, you will propose, prototype, design and implement various core components of the Flight Search service layer across all brands of Expedia Group. The mission is to deliver compelling industry leading services, including highly scalable and efficient search dispatching and integration platform, comprehensive and accurate machine learning based large scale caching system, and rich features. This position requires strong technical foundations and capability to work with and drive the best flight search results.
What you'll do:
Lead the design, analysis, development, and deployment efforts for multiple enterprise applications projects to resolve sophisticated business problems
Collaborate with EG leaders with vision to architect and build robust applications and thoughtfully choose relevant technologies to evolve EG travel platform
Engage in design sessions, discussing proposed technology solutions, to ensure they scale, are maintain
able, and meet business objectives
Drive towards an architecture that optimizes flexibility, re-use, scalability, performance, availability and highly cost-effective
Collaborate with Developers, Product Managers and Program Managers in an agile development environment
Work with the product team to quickly prototype and iterate on new insights and ideas
Grow and mentor junior members on the team
Who you are:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
Extensive Java programming experience (minimum 7 years)
Familiar with Open Source tools and good to have experience with Amazon Web Service (AWS)
Experience with REST API development and consumption, Spring and Spring boot
Application development using Object Oriented Analysis and Design
Strongly desired having experience with ignite (distributed cache), Kafka (queue) and Cassandra (NoSql)
Experience with system design
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience working with service oriented architectures and web based solutions
Write object-oriented, clean, and maintainable code
Deliver quality results on time with minimal supervision
