Senior Manager, Content Strategy
Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Content Strategy to join our growing Knowledge Management team. Are you passionate about building user centric experiences? Are you passionate about UX, personas and user flows? Are you well-versed in writing for localization, web and mobile? Do you like to dig through data to find untold stories from your users? What you'll do:
Own the overall content strategy vision and voice. Implement content strategy methodologies to help plan for the creation, delivery, and governance of useful, usable content
Stage and contribute to workshops that help others develop content-strategy knowledge and acuity, both within and across teams
Develop, evaluate, and oversee management of taxonomy strategies and vision, developing roadmaps and project plans to continually improve content unification across experiences
Apply human-centered practices and solid information architecture methods (e.g., modeling, mapping) in your work
Use data and research to evaluate content’s impact and derive customer insights that will help us solve our biggest customer problems and show real business results, proactively sharing business outcomes with leaders, executives, and other stakeholders across the business
Work on a team of content creators, content designers, and program managers to enable our partners and internal teams to self-serve with information
Act as a self-service content strategy ambassador, consulting and collaborating with other content teams across Expedia Group to learn and share best practices
Strategically manage relationships with partner teams across the company, including product, program, design, engineering, and support teams
Directly contribute to content as needed, working in concert with other internal content and communications teams to align on strategy and message
Audit, analyze, structure, create, and present content independently using established frameworks
Ability to help UX research and writers alike by creating a bridge between data and content
Exhibit storytelling and persuasive techniques that build trust and establish long-term relationships with teams and partners
Who you are:
Bachelor’s in an applicable design discipline, or any related field; or equivalent related professional experience
8+ years of strategic and tactical content creation and copywriting within UX, digital marketing, social media, e-commerce, streaming media, or similar practice
3+ years of experience mentoring junior content designers, content writers or UX team members
Advanced understanding of human-centered design (HCD) practices and their applications to content
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage constraints, make tradeoffs, and coach individuals to help them develop autonomy with these skills
Strong business acumen and judgment to be decisive despite ambiguity, take calculated risks, and lead through change in a fast-paced environment
Extraordinary ability to synthesize complex processes and technical experiences into simple and engaging language
Proficient in analyzing content analytics, reaching data-based conclusions, taking data-driven actions, and coaching individuals to help them develop these skills
A thoughtful, empathetic, and inclusive approach to content design that meets every user where they are
Able to generate strategies and roll up your sleeves to implement solutions
Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
Experience working in a globally distributed organization
Preferred qualifications:
Background in information architecture (IA), user experience (UX), design, and/or user research
Experience with Adobe AEM (Adobe Experience Manager), Salesforce & Seismic
Proficient with Jira, Clarabridge, Google Analytics, PowerBI, Tableau, Miro
