Fraud Investigation Analyst

The Traveler and Partner Service Platform (TPSP) Operations team is looking for an innovative, energetic, and dedicated individual to help our team in the ongoing fight against post-booking fraud (customer or agent initiated). You will report to the CPCE Sr. Manager, Fraud and Risk Operations. You will utilize your experience to identify fraud and protect the interactions with our most valuable travelers

What you’ll do:

  • Respond to internal and external fraud threats, coordinating end to end investigations and responses into fraudulent behavior, identifying full scope and impact

  • Monitor and provide ongoing analysis and insight into post-booking fraud trends across Expedia Group brands

  • Execute SQL, Redshift, Qubole, and Splunk database queries to retrieve data and produce standardized reports. Analyze acquired data and reports to identify new fraud activity

  • Balance multiple ongoing investigations, prioritizing case work to minimize fraud losses

  • Identify policy or process improvement opportunities and coordinate resolution with cross-functional stakeholders to reduce fraud exposure

  • Remain current on emerging fraud & risk trends, external tools, and industry standards as they relate to fraud prevention and risk mitigation

Who you are:

  • Familiarity with current technologies such as Splunk, Qubole, Tableau, or Looker

  • High level Excel skills, including the ability to quickly generate reports coupled with business analysis, and then formulate related recommendations based on the data

  • Solid understanding of SQL and SQL Developer tools, including the ability to data-mine, analyze results, and make recommendations

  • Experience in fraud and risk management, specifically data/customer behavior analysis is desirable

  • Understanding of common and creative techniques used by fraudsters to exploit e-commerce systems and processes is desirable

  • Effectively communicate complex ideas to primary business partners, both verbally and in writing

  • Capable of working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative fast-paced, results-driven environment

  • Salesforce experience is a plus

  • Customer Contact Center, e-commerce, or travel industry experience is a plus
