Director, SOX Compliance

What you will do:
This position will report directly to the VP, Corporate Audit Services (CAS)
Lead and oversee the Company’s SOX compliance efforts by partnering with business and IT (Information Technology) process owners across the Company, division controllership teams (2nd line of defense), internal and external auditors
Responsible for oversight of the management’s design assessment and test of operating effectiveness via our SOX co-source partner
Partner with shared services, division controllership teams, and process owners to develop, enhance, or recommend changes to SOX risks, controls, and/or process flows related to in-scope entities, processes, and/or products
Oversee the Company’s quarterly SOX certification process
Oversee management’s assessment of internal control over financial reporting
Using the ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) methodology, evaluate both CAS and process owner SOX identified deficiencies and their impact to both the financial statements and overall internal control environment, including the ultimate remediation and resolution
Drive SOX compliance across the enterprise and educate, consult, evaluate, and advise process owners on internal SOX controls and risk mitigation
Manage and continuously leverage the SOX management software (i.e., JIRA)
Deliver executive management presentations to summarize SOX scoping, risks and controls, testing results and deficiency impacts
Develop an in depth understanding of the Company’s IT environment (systems, services, architecture, and people) and apply that knowledge with existing technical/systems expertise to support business processes and procedures
Lead, mentor and develop a team of SOX compliance professionals, providing active coaching, feedback, and guidance, while fostering an inclusive culture
Provide on-going thought-leadership around emerging trends, regulations, and technologies in the worlds of SOX compliance, e-commerce, and technology; promote continuous learning and cultivate “best-in-class” practitioner capabilities by delivering team trainings, or organizing learning opportunities
Who you are:
Minimum 10 years of directly relevant experience across technology, financial, and operational SOX compliance
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in accounting, audit, finance, business, information systems or related field; or equivalent related professional experience
Big four or similar public, client-service assurance/advisory/SOX experience
Relevant certification(s) - CIA, CISA, CPA/CA, or other relevant certifications
Strong knowledge of services/systems prevalent in large-scale public technology/e-commerce organizations (including homegrown systems/services, payment systems, AWS/cloud environments, Oracle ERP, Workday, Salesforce, Hyperion, GRC tools)
Knowledge of current and emerging industry trends, regulations, and frameworks (e.g., COSO, COBIT)
Proven history of thinking strategically, using sound business judgement, and biased to driving action and business results
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to, as this position will involve frequent, direct interaction with senior executives
Successful experience developing and fostering high-performing teams to address complex issues within large organizations
Ability to travel domestic and international – the role may require up to 5% travel
The total cash range for this position in Austin is $184,500 to $258,000. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $295,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $174,500 to $244,000. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $279,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $184,500.00 to $258,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $295,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
