Join the Recommendation Platform team, part of Search and Supply Technology, to build relevant and personalized recommendations to power traveler experiences for all our partners on the EG Marketplace.Our mission is to leverage EG’s vast data to build scalable, highly available systems and make onboarding seamless for our Partners. We do this by building consistent APIs across Product lines and across all phases of the traveler journey. We are looking for a thought leader to help lead the team of passionate software engineers that can work closely with machine learning scientists to design and build best-in-class ML-powered systems.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and maintain highly available ML-powered systems within SLO

  • Lead impactful projects across organizations through the product lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and providing operational excellence and support

  • Lead engineers to design and implement capabilities with a platform, API-first mindset

  • Coach, mentor, and provide real-time feedback to an incredible team around their goals, delivery, and career development

  • Able to build a strong motivated team

  • Contribute to advancing the team's design methodology and quality programming practices

  • Cross organizational and functional boundaries to collaborate with other technology, data science, product in an agile environment to solve complex problems

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering; or equivalent related professional experience

  • Strong people leadership skills and validated ability to lead up, down, and across the organization

  • Able to build and grow a strong motivated team

  • Previous experience of leading software development teams as a technical lead combined with a hands-on experience in software engineering on large scale systems

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present sophisticated technical information clearly and concisely

  • Expertise in writing transactional web services using REST or distributed RPC technologies

  • Experience working with data scientists, data engineers, analysts to deliver customer facing capabilities

  • Delivering and influencing product roadmap, working in collaboration with product team

  • Solid understanding of Java, Kotlin, Scala with expertise in at least one language

  • Strong knowledge of backend API development

  • Experience of working in AWS Cloud

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills - able to translate between technical and business group, bring forward a vision or opinion

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Spring MVC, Spring Boot

  • AWS Cloud services, EC2, S3, Elasticache, Lambda, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, SQL, Redis

  • Kafka, Spark, other streaming, big data technologies

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $161,500.00 to $226,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $258,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
