Legal Counsel
Expedia Group is looking for a smart and pragmatic attorney with contract and commercial legal experience to join the Expedia for Business (E4B) Supply legal team. In this role you will provide legal support to commercial teams across all lines of travel supply, including air, car, cruise, hotel, and vacation rental, and you will have the opportunity to develop deeper expertise in one or more areas.
Your work will include commercial contracts and you will have responsibility for leading your own agreements, working closely with the business and other partner teams. You will also provide legal advice across a broad range of travel and technology legal issues. This is a dynamic, challenging, and fun environment where you can be creative, collaborative and do your best work as part of a highly respected legal team. The role will be based in Seattle and will report to the VP Legal, E4B Supply.
What you'll do:
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements with supply partners throughout the world
Amending, terminating and interpreting/advising on existing agreements
Providing general legal counsel and advice to the E4B Supply team and other business partners a range of issues including contract interpretation, internal standards and practices, risk management, insolvencies, changes in law and regulatory risk
Drafting, updating, and training on form contracts and contracting playbooks
Supporting new business and legal initiatives
Collaborating with key internal partners such as Privacy, Security, Tax, and Treasury
Who you are:
You are a self-starter who is keen to dive into a range of complex legal matters
You have experience with commercial transactions, and you are comfortable balancing legal risk and commercial objectives
You have a can-do attitude and are keen to learn and develop
You possess excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills and work ethic
You are skilled at building strong relationships with colleagues and business clients
You have at least 3+ years of experience with a top regional or national law firm or working in a dynamic in-house legal environment
You have a J.D. degree or equivalent with membership in at least one state bar, or the equivalent
Seattle: The total cash range for this position is $119,000 to $166,500. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $190,500, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $119,000.00 to $166,500.00.
