Software Development Engineer II

The team’s mission is to deliver exceptional onboarding-related user experiences to our partners. The Optimization team works on A/B testing and creating & transforming data, which allows us to run experiments to optimize the onboarding process and report on the outcomes.

What you'll do:

Collaborate with team members to co-develop and solve problems
Take advantage of opportunities to build new technical expertise in a specific engineering area
Understand the importance of system and technology integration and the basic features and facilities involved in the integration process
Develop and test standard software applications and related programs and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements
Apply software design principles, data structures and/or design patterns and computer science fundamentals to write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, modular with good naming conventions
Execute tasks and/or provides data to support the implementation of holistic solutions that forge linkages between structure, people, process, and technology
You feel comfortable challenging authority/the status quo
Report clearly on your current work status
Ask challenging questions when empowered to do so

Who you are:

2-4+ years of experience in Software Engineering
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science & Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
Equivalent experience includes:
Developing software in a team environment of at least 5 engineers (agile, version control, etc.)
Building and maintaining a software project/product in production environments in public/hybrid cloud infrastructure
Strong hands-on experience in Java
Strong hands-on experience working with at least one of the following development technologies: JavaScript, React, Node.js, GraphQL
Hands-on experience with some data store (Aurora, Cassandra, Hadoop, S3), API access (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and platform technologies (AWS/Cloud, Dropwizard, SpringBoot Docker, Kubernetes)
Hands-on experience with some data store (Aurora, Cassandra, Hadoop, S3), API access (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and platform technologies (AWS/Cloud, Dropwizard, SpringBoot Docker, Kubernetes)
Hands-on experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, KStreams)
Familiarity with monitoring technologies (Splunk, DataDog, etc.)
Experience building and maintaining a software project/product in production environments in public/hybrid cloud infrastructure
Ability to test and monitor the code you’re responsible for

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $105,500.00 to $148,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $169,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
