Senior Manager, Global Communications Geo Strategy & Planning

As a Senior Manager with a strong strategic thinking skills and operational bias, you will focus on overseeing the development and implementation of our global communications market expansion strategy on behalf our Global Communications team. Working with leadership, and in close collaboration with our local market and channel experts, you will devise the optimal structure to enable the team to deliver market-winning communication strategies and act as one of the key representatives in cross-divisional working groups.

Sitting within the Global Communications team, the Global Cross-Functional Comms & Operations team is responsible for developing and driving organization-wide integrated communication initiatives as well as setting the organization up for success by driving collaboration and providing support across strategy & planning and operations functions such as budget management, HR/People, and internal comms.

The position will report to the Senior Director, Cross-Functional Comms & Operations, and will work closely with the wider Global Communications team.

What you’ll do:

• Develop our cross-functional communications playbook for new market entry demonstrating a strong understanding of local relevancy and global scale

• Use data and insights to guide and inform our approach and make decisions

• Support in defining optimal market investment and manage budgets, including reporting

• Coordinate delivery of cross-functional country strategies and plans across global communications org

• Lead quarterly geo reporting across global communications org

• Define and own processes to help drive operational excellence for our global markets

• Maintain a deep understanding of our business and industries to facilitate optimal strategy development and delivery

• Work with procurement to manage any third-party agency and supplier identification and onboarding in new markets

• Effectively utilize project management skills to track actions, timelines, owners, status and risk identification

• Work closely with partner groups within Expedia Group to align on strategy and execution

• Recognize and solve for contenting priorities and present trade-offs and solutions

Who you are:

• 8+ years of experience in communications

• Experience working on global projects / across multiple markets

• Experience working across multiple communications channels, including PR, social media and influencer marketing

• Leadership skills, with the ability to form and guide project teams effectively

• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive projects forward independently

• Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization

• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team while also being comfortable working autonomously with a manager based in a different time zone

• Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment a plus

• Experience in large, highly matrixed organizations a plus

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $155,000 to $217,000. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $248,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $155,000 to $217,000. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $248,500, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
