Position Overview

Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, air and hydraulic systems, and production machines and equipment by performing duties as required in a production facility. Working knowledge of HVAC, Automated Manufacturing equipment and CNC equipment is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Work in a safe manner consistent with company rules and regulations.

Able to wear standard safety protective equipment (PPE) as required, including, but not limited to; Eye protection, hearing protection, safety footwear, fall protection, etc.

Understand the concept of Lock Out-Tag Out (LOTO), and other safety related protection protocol.

Understand the safe handling of Hazardous Materials.

Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

Inspect used parts to determine any changes in dimensional requirements.

Adjusts functional parts of devices and controls instruments.

Ability to diagnose, and troubleshoot issues utilizing a variety of test gauges and meters.

Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts.

Starts devices to test their performances.

Uses welding equipment, machine tools and hand tools to repair machinery and equipment throughout the facility.

Does general maintenance work such as routine plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and preventative maintenance as needed.


Initiates purchase requests for parts and components.

Repairs minor electrical problems under the supervision of the plant electrician.

Performs other related duties as required.

Skills and Experience

5 years' experience in an industrial setting preferred
