Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Duties and Responsibilities

Warehouse Person will be responsible for the proper location and maintaining correct records of all items in the warehouse, staging or designated storage areas.

Will be responsible for, but not limited to, determining shipping containers, packing requirements, quantity, catalog numbers, markings and identification, condition of packaging and final packaging of items to be shipped, loading material in a manner to insure damage-free shipments and per customer specific requirements, verifying type of container for bill of lading, describing type of container and number of packages within for bill of lading, and adhering to maximum limitations on trailer weights.

Will be required to stage material, prepare documents for reporting inbound and outbound shipments, process UPS inbound shipments and returned goods, coordinate shipments with production scheduling, identify each item with the proper SPC number, quantity, purchase order number, production order number, type of operation to be performed, destination and any other pertinent information, weigh or hand count each item to be shipped or received.

Will be required to store, retrieve and deliver required parts and material to the appropriate department.

Will be required to operate a forklift or other material handling equipment and furnish own hand tools.

Warehouse Person must have the ability to read and interpret drawings, routing sheets, and have the ability to satisfactorily use calipers, gages, measuring devices, figure gross, net, and legal weights, and convert to cubic measurements, to operate hand-held and stationary computer terminals, and perform SPC as required.

Will be required to pass the Packing and Shipping Operator’s Test and to “Certify Quality and Catalog Number of the Product” per Company or customer requirements.

Will be required to maintain machines, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.

Skills and Experience

Ability to perform work for a minimum of eight hours.

Ability to walk, hear, see and have full use of both hands.

Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist and waist to floor.

Ability to lift in excess of 65 lbs.

Ability to lift 75 lbs. from floor to a height of 41 inches and carry it a distance of 6 feet.
